All these recs are either single or triple drabbles, so quick reads all around!

Find My Refuge - OW, T, gen.
A novelist takes a job as caretaker of a cursed manor. Loved how he figured out how to get the place to leave him alone to write. XD

The Golden Ability - OW, T, gen.
A tiny dragon encounters a foe. Pyrite is adorable, and I love his "worthy adversary" and the obvious misunderstanding the humans have for just what Pyrite is.

Two Birds, One Stone - Disney's Lion King, G, gen.
Scar contemplates. I can so easily picture his sneering face in this and his mental plotting is spot-on.

Not A Marble Statue - Disney's Hercules, E, Hercules/Meg.
Meg wants it rough. Hot and also tender, loved how Meg encouraged (demanded, really) Hercules to stop holding back.

Hair Whipping in the Wind as He Rode - Leverage, G, gen.
Hardison takes some revenge. I think Hardison's going to regret it, but Eliot had it coming. XD

Of Memory, Slow-returning - The Mummy, G, Anck-su-namun/Imhotep.
Imhotep ruminates on his lover. Angst for the soul! I always felt so sorry for Imhotep in the end, and this gives a good examination of his heart's hurts.

LuckyDuck - MCU, G, gen.
Kamala adopts a 'kitten'. Cute! A new mascot joining the team and immediately making friends was heart-warming.

Destined for Something Different - Supernatural, M, Dean/Sam.
Canonical alternate universe shenanigans. "It's a Terrible Life" is one of my favorite episodes of the series, and this is a nicely humorous (and sexy) bit set in that world. (And as I said in my comment, Dean's always proud of his car.)

Treasure - OW, G, gen.
Tiny dragon hoards buttons. Very cute. Loved the image and all the types of buttons.

Your Money or Your Life - OW, T, gen.
A highwaymen and a carriage's passenger. Loved this! A little creepy, a lot satisfying.

If Comfy, Warm, and My Size, Why No Sit: A Meta-analysis of Research into the Warm Flat Rectangle by Dr Fluffy Jones - OW, G, gen.
Cat scientists! My personal favorite out of the collection, a definite stand-out. Funny in every word, and the bibliography is really the topper on it all. Excellent piece, perfect in 300 words.

  1. closer [vid] by Anonymous. Wonderful recap video of Ghostbusters with an emphasis on the friendships.

  2. Afterlife by Anonymous. Makes you want to take this journey with The Good Place characters...or at least rewatch the whole series.

  3. [VID] I Want You to Want Me by Anonymous. Lively and uplifting vid of Branagh's Much Ado About Nothing.

  4. Still Life With Flerken by copperbadge. Wonderful speculation on the relevance of Goose to Nick Fury post-Captain Marvel.

  5. Weighty and Troublesome Things by Skitz_phenom. "Post-canon AU / Canon AU from S2. It's been ten years since Arthur drifted away from him on the Lake of Avalon, but even inside Camelot's walls, Merlin is still lost. Hiding from those who know him and cut off from his former life in self-imposed exile, he can't resist the temptation when a mysterious stranger offers him the chance to set things right. Merlin returns to the past, to an innocent, simpler time, armed with the knowledge of Arthur's fate."

Time-travel is the ultimate fix-it format, but what is striking about this story is less what Merlin does as opposed to the cost he bears of doing so. The ending makes it clear that this is the focus of the story, and I love that it does not tie things up neatly.

I watch a lot of fanvids, but there's only a handful that I watch over and over and over again.

Proof by onthecyberseas
A Carol Danvers/Maria Rambeau fanvid, about being in love no matter how far the distance between you is.

Pumped Up Kicks by Anoel
All about S1 Veronica Mars kicking ass and getting revenge.

Rockabye: A Star Wars Story by Pixie
No one in Star Wars is raised by their birth parent for various tragic reasons -- but none of them is a lack of love.

Han's Girl by roane72
A Luke/Leia/Han vid set to Jessie's Girl.

These are a few vids, posted over the last year, that I have really enjoyed and rewatched many times.

Raising Hell by [archiveofourown.org profile] bingeling (Ready or Not)
I don't wanna go to Heaven without raisin' hell.

→ Just a fun vid about a woman trying to escape her murderous in-laws. You also don't need to watch the movie first to enjoy.

When You Break by [archiveofourown.org profile] sweetestdrain (Avengers)
Tell me another beautiful lie.

→ This is an amazing vid about the OG Avengers team. If you were like me, and sorely disappointed by Endgame, then this vid will make you feel better. It will also hurt in spots but it reminded me why I love these movies.

Los Ageless by [archiveofourown.org profile] sisabet (Xena)
Burn the Pages of Unwritten Memoirs

→ This is a Xena/Gabrielle vid about all the different alternate lives they had (which were delightfully hilarious at times) and how they're still soulmates in every one. A must-watch if you loved Xena & Gabrielle.

Problem by [archiveofourown.org profile] cherryice (Captain Marvel)
That girl is a problem.

→ I think the editing on this vid is amazing, worth watching even if you haven't seen the movie. The way the scenes are intercut is fantastic.

Sum of Our Parts by [archiveofourown.org profile] aurumcalendula (Bandidas)
We are, we are more than our scars.

→ Bandidas is a movie starring Salma Hayek and Penelope Cruz as two women who become bank robbers to fight injustice! Highly recommend the movie and this vid, which is a lovely overview of the movie and the women's friendship.
